Landslide of about 35 tons of rock at Hoang Xa mountain, Quoc Oai commune

On the afternoon of September 2, a serious landslide occurred in the Hoang Xa mountain area, Hoa Voi village, Quoc Oai commune (Hanoi). A rock measuring about 2.2x3x3m and weighing about 35 tons fell in front of Bo cave. Fortunately, the incident did not cause any loss of life or property.

Immediately after receiving the information, leaders of the People's Committee of Quoc Oai commune and functional forces urgently arrived at the scene, implementing initial handling measures to ensure safety for the people.

The Commune People's Committee has organized the stretching of warning ropes and put up signs "Landslide area, dangerous, no entry" in the area where the incident occurred; at the same time, made a record, requiring people to absolutely not live or travel in the dangerous area.

In addition, the Commune People's Committee also issued documents to guide, propagate and warn people living near the foot of Hoang Xa mountain about the risk of landslides; disseminate response skills and emergency evacuation plans in case of similar situations; at the same time, the commune has developed a plan to handle and move the landslide rock mass to minimize the risk of recurrence.

The People's Committee of Quoc Oai commune recommends that people be vigilant, proactively avoid gathering in Hoang Xa mountain area and areas at risk of landslides to ensure safety of life and property.
