Salah has been a top target for Saudi Arabian football for years, who see him as the perfect successor to Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of influence and charisma. Al Hilal, who signed Darwin Nunez from Liverpool last summer, are considered the most promising candidates for the deal.
However, according to the Daily Mail , the transfer fee is expected to be much lower than the £150 million that the Saudi Pro League offered Liverpool two years ago. Salah is now older, his form has declined and his relationship with Liverpool's board of directors has also seriously broken, making Saudi Arabian clubs confident in a "bargain" deal.
At 33, Salah is going through a stressful period at Anfield. In the last three matches, he has been on the bench and only came on as a substitute. After the 3-3 draw with Leeds on December 7, Salah shocked the world when he publicly criticized coach Arne Slot and the Liverpool board, claiming that he had been "thrown out" and "no longer respected as before".
Salah even hinted that the match against Brighton at Anfield on December 13 could be his last time wearing a Liverpool shirt.
Immediately after this match, Salah will join the Egyptian team to attend CAN 2025 and will only return to England in mid-January, when he can completely complete his move to the Saudi Pro League.
