This is the first official competition day of the 33rd SEA Games, Vietnamese athletes will compete in 14 sports. Among them are many strong sports, which have brought many gold medals to Vietnam in previous SEA Games. The most anticipated are canoeing and taekwondo, which will compete at 9am.
The canoeing team will compete with athletes: Pham Hong Quan in the men's single canoeing 500m and the women's double canoeing 500m (Nguyen Thi Huong, Diep Thi Huong), and the mixed 4-scull 500m (Hoang Duy, Mai Hanh, Hoang Thi Huong, Thanh Danh).
