The super cruise ship Costa Serena docked at Ha Long International Cruise Port for nearly 3,000 international tourists to visit Ha Long.

According to information from the authorities of Quang Ninh province, on the morning of September 30, the cruise ship Costa Serena (Italian nationality), carrying nearly 3,000 international tourists and over 1,000 crew members, docked at Ha Long International Cruise Port for visitors to visit Ha Long City.

The above tourists come from the community of Chinese-speaking countries and territories. According to the program, international tourists will visit Ha Long Bay, tourist attractions of Ha Long City and the city center.

The Costa Serena will leave the port at 6 p.m. the same day. It is expected that the Costa Serena will bring international tourists back to visit Ha Long on October 14, October 18, November 4 and November 8.

The group of tourists quickly went down to visit Ha Long City.

According to the Quang Ninh Department of Tourism, in 2024, Ha Long is expected to welcome about 60 - 70 cruise ships, carrying about 70,000 visitors, of which the end of the year is the peak time to welcome visitors.

At the end of the year, Ha Long is the destination of many international tourists. In particular, cruise tourism is on the rise. Normally, cruise tourism to Ha Long starts from November of the previous year and lasts until April of the following year.

The 2024 cruise tourism season started with positive signs right from the beginning of the year. That is the return of many familiar luxury customers; typically the cruise ships of Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Azamara, Mein Schiff 5... bringing thousands of guests from the United States, Canada, England, Australia... to Ha Long from January to April.

Notably, the first luxury cruise ship to return and stay long-term in Ha Long was The World (US nationality), bringing over 170 tourists, including millionaires and billionaires, mainly from the US and Europe, to stay for 4 days in Ha Long.

According to information from the authorities of Quang Ninh province, although storm No. 3 made landfall in the area in early September, it caused heavy damage to the local tourism industry.

However, due to proactively implementing remedial measures, up to now, many accommodation and tourist establishments in Quang Ninh have resumed operations and welcomed tourists.

From September 8 to 16, there were 14,490 international tourists and 3,450 domestic tourists staying at tourist destinations in Quang Ninh; the total number of tourists visiting Ha Long Bay was 18,862, the number of tourists staying in this bay was 4,169.
