SIU students join world-leading airline Emirates Airlines

Banh Khanh Dung, an excellent alumnus of the 13th class of English Language, Saigon International University (SIU), has officially become a flight attendant of Emirates Airlines - the world's leading airline. Khanh Dung's inspirational journey is a story of relentless efforts and the desire to conquer the dream of reaching the world.

Prepare carefully to "fly high"

Since childhood, Khanh Dung has cherished the dream of becoming a flight attendant. After graduating from high school at Asian School, Khanh Dung continued to choose SIU to develop herself. "If you want to become a flight attendant for an international airline, English is an indispensable factor. Studying at SIU, I have the opportunity to practice directly with native teachers in an international environment, helping my English ability to improve significantly. This is also a school that my parents completely trust, so I always receive full support from my family, which makes my learning journey smoother." Khanh Dung shared.

Khanh Dung also received encouragement and guidance from her teachers at SIU, who commented that she was very well-suited to a career as a flight attendant. This further strengthened her resolve to pursue her dream.

During her studies at SIU, Khanh Dung has acquired a lot of valuable knowledge, comprehensively practiced specialized English skills such as listening, speaking, reading, writing, and learned more about communication culture, English in tourism , commerce, and translation. In addition, Dung actively participated in conferences, specialized seminars and workshops, through which she not only learned more knowledge but also broadened her vision of the cultures of countries around the world.

"Growing up in a multicultural international environment helped me develop soft skills from a very young age, especially presentation skills, which has made me more confident in interviews," Khanh Dung added.

In addition to studying, Khanh Dung is also an outstanding member of SIU's dance club - SEC Dance Club. By participating in practice sessions and performances at school events, Dung has been able to practice her confidence and develop her communication skills. The club is also where Dung connects with her fellow students, who have always supported and encouraged her during her interview preparation.

Understanding the importance of practical experience, Dung worked part-time at a burger shop near her school and as a sales assistant for the Pull & Bear brand. These jobs helped Khanh Dung accumulate customer service skills and impress potential employers.

Studying, participating in extracurricular activities, and working part-time have given Khanh Dung many valuable experiences, becoming solid foundations on her journey to achieving her dreams. Thanks to this, when the opportunity arose, Dung could confidently "take off" and fly further, reaching new and promising horizons.

Immediately after completing her studies at SIU, Khanh Dung seized the opportunity to fulfill her dream when Emirates Airlines opened for recruitment. Dung prepared thoroughly, from self-study and practicing interview skills to confidently showcasing herself in the selection rounds.

Talking about the "key" to success in becoming a flight attendant of a world-class airline like Emirates Airlines, Dung said: "Living with a goal and making a specific plan to achieve that goal is the most important thing. I always prepare everything carefully, from knowledge to skills, perseverance and endurance. When the opportunity comes, I am ready to seize it."

Khánh Dung successfully beat out 160 other candidates, many of whom had prior experience working for domestic airlines, to become an official flight attendant for Emirates Airlines.

Khanh Dung always tells herself that her youth and a well-planned mindset will be her "strengths" to convince employers. Even in job interviews, Dung always shows her willingness to work and determination to contribute. Having passed 4 rounds including: Group Discussion 1, 2; English Test and Final Interview, Khanh Dung has successfully conquered her dream.

After passing the selection rounds, Khanh Dung participated in a two-month flight attendant training program, which included courses in flight safety, security, first aid and customer service. With her new job, Dung had the opportunity to meet many people from all over the world and visit places she never thought she would visit.

Sharing about her upcoming plans, Khanh Dung shared that she will continue to work as a flight attendant, conquer more routes and explore new countries. "My journey is still long, and I want to take my parents to travel to many places. I always believe that when I try to do my best, the best will come naturally," Dung affirmed.

From SIU lecture hall to Emirates Airlines cabin crew, Khanh Dung's story is a living proof that when aspiration and determination are big enough, the vast sky is just the starting point.
