According to initial information, at around 1:30 p.m. on December 9, relatives of captain Ho SH (born in 1991, residing in Nghe An province) reported that fishing boat NA 98.xx TS sank while fishing in an area about 50 nautical miles east-northeast of Vung Ang port ( Ha Tinh province). At the time of the accident, there were 8 crew members on board.

Coast Guard officers and soldiers worked through the night to search for missing fishermen.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Coast Guard Region 1 Command mobilized ships and officers and soldiers on duty in the Vung Ang sea area to quickly approach the scene. At the same time, the unit coordinated with functional forces and fishing boats operating near the area to organize search and rescue.

Despite the difficulties in the search operation due to darkness, high waves, and limited visibility, the authorities persevered, conducting a search throughout the night in the area where the fishermen were suspected to have drifted ashore.

The search operation is currently being carried out urgently, and the search area continues to be expanded with close coordination between functional forces and local authorities.
