This year’s tournament brings together 8 women’s teams with 130 athletes from Quang Ninh, Lao Cai and Tuyen Quang. The teams compete in 7-a-side football, divided into 2 groups, with 15 matches taking place from December 3 to 7.

According to the Organizing Committee, the event is not only a sports tournament, but also aims to honor the culture of ethnic minorities, encourage women in the highlands to confidently assert themselves; at the same time, spread the spirit of healthy sports and promote gender equality. This is also an opportunity to promote the image of Binh Lieu, a locality known as the "sleeping princess" of Quang Ninh with majestic nature and rich cultural identity.

The unique point that attracts the attention of the audience is that the players compete in the traditional costumes of their ethnic groups. From the Dao, Tay, San Chi to the ethnic groups of other provinces, each costume is a story about a vivid cultural heritage. The female players participating in the tournament are also very diverse, from high school students to middle-aged women, from farmers, workers to local officials.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh, said that this year's tournament gathered 8 football teams, representing many ethnic communities. The tournament also contributed to raising awareness of the role of sports training, promoting the movement of training to improve health, prevent diseases and build a healthy lifestyle in the community.

"Each athlete brings a beautiful story about determination, aspiration to rise up and the spirit of preserving identity in modern life," said Mr. Tung.

With the combination of sports, culture and tourism, the tournament promises not only to create a useful playground for women in the highlands but also to become a unique tourism product, promoting the image of Binh Lieu (Quang Ninh) to domestic and foreign tourists.
