Agreeing with the draft Political Report presented to the Congress, Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan, former Vice President of Vietnam, non-executive Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and President of the Vietnam Association for the Promotion of Learning, suggested that the content regarding the situation of national unity should be expressed more profoundly to clearly show the mobilization of "the people's strength" when the country faces difficulties and calamities. At the same time, it is necessary to address the strength of the people in successfully achieving socio-economic development goals and to add content on "culture and education".
Referring to the assessment of mobilizing the people to compete in learning, creative work, and successfully achieving the goals of economic , cultural, and social development, while maintaining national defense and security, Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan stated that in recent years, the movement to build a learning society has received attention from the Party and the State and has been widely implemented. Therefore, the Political Report needs to clarify this content further, thereby proposing directions for implementing the movement "The whole country competes to build a learning society and promote lifelong learning in the period 2023-2030" in accordance with the spirit mentioned by the Prime Minister.
Referring to President Ho Chi Minh's admonition: "In the sky, nothing is more precious than the people. In the world, nothing is stronger than the united force of the people," Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan stated that the Vietnam Fatherland Front must fully utilize the principle that "the people are the foundation," thus maximizing the Front's extremely important role. It is evident that during the past term, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has implemented many innovative and effective initiatives, demonstrating the strength of national unity more powerfully than ever before, especially during the fight against Covid-19.
"How can the Political Report reflect the strength of the people, that the people are the source of everything?" suggested Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan.

Commenting on the content of the Political Report assessment, Professor Tran Ngoc Duong, Chairman of the Advisory Council on Democracy and Law of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, suggested that the role of social supervision and criticism should be emphasized, and that a thorough assessment of this activity is needed, including an evaluation of the institutions and the conditions for carrying out this activity.
"This is considered a crucial point in the organization and operation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. Social supervision and criticism should be considered a component of the people's mechanism for controlling state power through their political, social, and professional organizations," Professor Tran Ngoc Duong affirmed.
Professor Tran Ngoc Duong also suggested that there should be a specific regulation to help the Advisory Council be more proactive in advising and assisting the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, especially in social supervision and criticism activities.

Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang, President of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe and President of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic, stated that, from the perspective of overseas Vietnamese, the success of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's 2019-2024 term is clearly demonstrated through many outstanding events, including the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory. The Vietnam Fatherland Front mobilized resources and built 5,000 "Great Solidarity" houses for the poor in Dien Bien province and other Northwestern provinces. The "resonance" from these activities caring for the poor in Dien Bien province has not only resonated domestically but has also had a widespread impact on the overseas Vietnamese community, bringing practical benefits to the people.
According to Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang, the Party, the State, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front pay great attention to the Vietnamese community abroad, not only in terms of policies and guidelines but also in regulations and draft amendments to laws to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of the Vietnamese community overseas. In recent years, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has coordinated with domestic agencies to organize the "Spring in the Homeland" program and many other programs demonstrating concern for overseas Vietnamese. And from that concern, overseas Vietnamese have become more responsible. Many overseas intellectuals and experts have contributed to the development of the country.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Do Duy Thuong, Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Council on Democracy and Law, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, suggested that the draft political report should fully assess the achievements and identify shortcomings and limitations during the term. This would serve as the basis for the Vietnam Fatherland Front to develop six action programs for the new term.
According to Mr. Thuong, one of the important contents that the political report needs to focus on is the assessment of social supervision and criticism activities. This is also one of the very important activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people, participating in building the Party and the government. In recent years, the Party has highly appreciated the social supervision and criticism activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. In addition, the draft political report must assess the activities of the Presidium and the Standing Committee in implementing action programs in the past term and deploying new action programs in the next term.
"In the objectives for the 2024-2029 term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has set out six action programs, including a new program to promote the people's role as masters and their spirit of self-governance in building united, prosperous, and happy residential areas. This is a very meaningful program. To ensure its smooth implementation at the grassroots level, attention must be paid to the organization of the Fatherland Front Working Committees in residential areas, as these are the forces that directly engage with the people, representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people in accordance with the ideology of national unity," Mr. Thuong said.
And to effectively implement the action programs of the 10th term of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Mr. Thuong proposed that fundamental solutions are needed, including evaluating the performance of political and social organizations and member organizations, because the activities of member organizations make a significant contribution to the implementation of the action program of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
