Therefore, the Standard Chartered Hanoi Heritage Marathon not only creates a media impression, but also brings direct economic value to the city. It is estimated that in just 3 days of the event, the amount of spending from international athletes on accommodation, food, transportation, shopping, etc. can contribute more than 30 billion VND to local tourism revenue.

Recently, Mr. Paco Borao - President of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), praised the Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi for becoming an international-class sports and social event, attracting top athletes as well as tourists from all over the world, similar to the success stories of New York (USA), London (UK), Venice (Italy), Tromso (Norway), Athens (Greece) and Valencia (Spain).

In a continuous effort to raise the level of the tournament, aiming for a future scale of tens of thousands of athletes participating like the tournaments in the Standard Chartered Marathon system, while bringing new experiences to runners, DHA Vietnam General Director Nguyen Tri revealed: “The 2025 season has a new Start - Finish point, which has never been chosen by any major race in Hanoi. That is Quan Ngua Sports Palace, with the final kilometers to the finish line being a cool, straight lakeside road that promises to bring excitement to the athletes after a long journey of effort, motivating everyone to overcome their limits and improve their personal achievements”.

“This is an optimal and breakthrough choice for a marathon that is growing strongly in both quantity and quality of organization, raising the level of the tournament every year,” Mr. Nguyen Tri affirmed.

The Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi 2025 is the 10th race in the globally renowned Standard Chartered Marathon system. This is the largest international race in Vietnam, competing in 4 main distances, including 42.195km (marathon); 21.0975km (half marathon); 10km; 5km and an additional special distance for children from 5 to 9 years old.

The race is part of the Heritage Run system (organized annually including the following races: Hanoi Heritage International Marathon - November, Ha Long Heritage International Marathon - November and Can Tho Heritage International Marathon - December) organized by DHA Vietnam Company, a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Running (AIMS).

Achievements at the race are recognized as a condition for registration to participate in the Abbott World Marathon Majors Age-Division World Championship - an international organization that owns a system of 7 most prestigious marathon races on the planet (World Marathon Majors), including the Boston Marathon.
