On November 7th, nearly 400 officials, experts, and workers of Vietnam Waste Treatment Company Limited (VWS) working at the Da Phuoc Waste Treatment Complex (Binh Chanh district) underwent routine health check-ups conducted by doctors and medical staff from the Rehabilitation and Occupational Disease Treatment Hospital.

Arriving very early for a medical check-up before his shift, Mr. Nguyen Van Dong (54 years old, a tarpaulin-laying worker) who has worked at VWS Company for over 16 years, said that since the company's establishment, he has applied for a job and has remained with the company until today. Due to his age, he suffers from ailments such as high blood pressure and joint problems. Thanks to the doctor's dedicated examination, advice, and guidance on diet and exercise to improve his health, he feels more at ease.
"The company is very concerned about the health of its employees, organizing annual health check-ups for workers. If an employee discovers a disease requiring treatment, the company even provides financial assistance. This is very valuable and is the reason why many workers have stayed with the company for a long time," Mr. Dong said.
While waiting for her ultrasound, Ms. Le Thi Ha (48 years old) said that every year the company invites skilled doctors to come to the site to conduct health checkups for its workers. Health is a valuable asset for workers, and thanks to regular and timely care, the workers are able to maintain good health to meet the demands of their jobs. "I've worked in several places before, but VWS Company is one of the best companies I know that cares so much about the health of its employees," Ms. Ha confided.
Regular health check-ups for workers and employees are always a top priority for VWS. During the health check-up, employees undergo blood tests, blood pressure measurements, dental and maxillofacial examinations, ear, nose and throat examinations, eye examinations, and X-rays. After receiving the health check-up results, employees with any abnormal conditions will be examined by specialized specialists for early detection and timely treatment.
Mr. Duong Van Cuong, Administrative Director of VWS, said: “ We recognize that organizing annual health checkups for employees is essential and extremely important for the development of the business. Receiving timely health checkups and treatment helps employees feel secure in their work and stay with the company for the long term .”
Mr. Cuong added that on the morning of November 7th, the VWS Board of Directors also held an online meeting with the leaders of California Waste Solutions (CWS) in the US. During the meeting, he reported to Mr. David Duong, Chairman and CEO of both CWS and VWS, about the health check program for employees at the company.
The program was highly appreciated by the Board of Directors, who also requested that it be implemented to the best of their ability to care for the workers and employees. Mr. David Duong personally affirmed that the success of VWS Company is largely due to the contributions of all its staff and employees. They are the company's "valuable asset." Therefore, caring for the health and well-being of workers and their children is a duty and responsibility of VWS Company.
Every year, VWS company allocates billions of VND to care for the well-being and health of its employees. In addition to organizing health check-ups for workers, the company also holds numerous workshops on health care during hot weather; rescue and fire prevention; and provides gifts and scholarships to the children of employees who excel in their studies. During the summer, the company also organizes vacation trips for employees to help them recharge after days of hard work.
