The Da Nang Innovation and Startup Festival SURF 2025 (July 29-30) is expected to feature more than 30 speakers and investors from Vietnam and abroad (Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, etc.). Within the framework of the event, an international investment forum will be held on the theme "Blockchain and Digital Assets - Innovation in Urban Digital Transformation and Digital Economic Development in Da Nang".
Leaders of the Da Nang City People's Committee and the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology visited the exhibition booths at SURF 2024.
This event continues to bring together many big names in the technology and investment fields such as Quest Ventures, TRIVE, Fundgo... along with the participation of technology unicorns in the Web3 and Blockchain fields; international organizations such as Swiss EP, Draper Startup House, universities, startup incubators and innovation support organizations from many countries and territories.
In particular, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition at SURF 2025 continues to be invested in as a professional playground for young startups, aiming to find startup ideas and projects, develop talents, and create a stepping stone for breakthroughs for innovation and entrepreneurship projects in Da Nang City.
Following the qualifying round on July 4th, the judging panel selected 10 out of 31 projects to advance to the final round: eTelecom; Rally AI; EARTEM; NFC Connect; Enfue; LocalLife.Aisa; Coffee Market; TikTour.vn; AIVOS; and LotusEase – a semi-automatic fresh lotus seed shelling machine. These 10 projects will receive one-on-one training and support from experts on presentation skills and consulting on July 17th and 18th. The final round will be held on July 29th.
Within the framework of SURF 2025, there will also be an exhibition focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship activities, and an updated virtual exhibition on the innovation and entrepreneurship platform from July 2025 to December 2025 with approximately 200 booths. In addition, cooperation signing ceremonies, thematic seminars, pitching sessions for funding, etc., will also take place at this year's event.
Reportedly, SURF 2024 attracted 500 guests, 30 leading speakers and experts from Singapore, South Korea, the US, China, and other countries; more than 10 investment funds such as Touchstone, Quest Ventures, WeAngels, FUNDGO, and over 300 booths (of which 200 were organized on a virtual reality platform).
SURF 2024 made a strong impression on the breakthrough of Da Nang's startup ecosystem. Notably, 9 startup projects participated in the pitching process, and 16 memoranda of cooperation were signed directly at the event. In addition, the innovation and startup competition at SURF 2024 selected the 4 most outstanding projects.
Typical examples include the UCTalent project – first prize at SURF 2024, and then third prize at the Vietnam Global Entrepreneurship Competition 2025 in the UK; and BINKS – Plant-Based Squid, which went from second prize at SURF 2024 to first prize at SV_STARTUP 2024 organized by the Ministry of Education and Training. This demonstrates the international competitiveness potential of innovative startup projects from Da Nang.
