I recall that at the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City Expanded Dance Festival, only Ha Thanh Hau's work "Phan Ngoc" won the A prize, while Ha Loc, the principal dancer in the performance, also impressed the judges and won the festival's rare individual A prize.
Ha Loc demonstrates her love for traditional art.
While in "Phận ngọc ," Hà Lộc was immersed in the emotions of a traditional Vietnamese opera artist, in "Sống anh," he was able to soar in the mystical atmosphere of traditional Vietnamese opera.
Lộc plays the role of Lộc, a young man whose love for traditional Vietnamese opera was nurtured by his late mother. However, as he grew up, his father forbade his passion, and his friends around him discriminated against him for this art form, which they considered old-fashioned and outdated.
To avoid being scolded by his father and ridiculed by his friends, Loc sometimes compromised, studying modern subjects and winning championships. But after all that, Loc still felt lost and adrift because he wasn't living his passion.

Life is a journey of striving, overcoming all obstacles to immerse oneself in the art form, in the enchanting world of traditional Vietnamese opera, as envisioned by this young man.
In the play, Ha Loc appeared almost from beginning to end. Dancing is her forte, so there's nothing to be afraid of; what she was apprehensive about was that it was her first time acting in a play, and it was a challenging role, so Ha Loc couldn't help but feel nervous.

In the auditorium of the Youth World Stage on the evening of December 10th, there were many audience members and professionals who were fans of Ha Loc. Director Vu Tran openly shared that he tried his best to find tickets to see Ha Loc dance. Artist My Uyen excitedly ran onto the stage to hug Ha Loc after the performance.
It's safe to say that Ha Loc had an emotionally explosive performance. Because the audience loved his dancing talent so much, they cheered and applauded enthusiastically, temporarily overlooking his somewhat clumsy acting in the theatrical segment.

We want young people to develop a greater love for traditional art.
Director Dien Bui, whose real name is Bui Van Dien, is originally from Hau Giang (now Can Tho), graduated from Saigon University, and later studied dance. He is currently a professional choreographer.
Therefore, after graduating from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Film with a degree in directing, Dien chose dance drama to develop his strengths.
Having an interest in traditional art and recognizing that young people today have many modern forms of entertainment, Dien believes that creating plays is also a way for young people to admire the beauty of traditional art, so that they can appreciate and love the essence of the nation even more.
The performance featured 60 actors, mostly dancers, making the dance sequences visually stunning. Audiences were treated to contemporary dance, traditional Vietnamese opera, and folk dances from around the world, including Russia, China, and Korea. However, due to the intense focus on the dance, the dramatic elements were sometimes neglected.

There were relatively few professional dancers in the performance, which helped to support the dancers' performance. Among them, artist Le Trung Thao, a professional dance instructor, played the role of Ha Loc's teacher. People jokingly said he wasn't acting; he was simply bringing the image of his everyday teacher onto the stage.
After the performance, Dien Bui received many messages hoping he would perform again. Dien told Tuoi Tre Online that he is also considering, if possible, performing for free to spread his love of traditional Vietnamese opera and dance to the public, especially young people.
