Japanese financial group plans to invest 35% of FPT's AI enterprise

DNVN -FPT Corporation and Japanese financial services group SBI Holdings have just signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation, with SBI Holdings planning to invest up to 35% of shares in FPT Smart Cloud Japan Co., Ltd. - an AI, Cloud company newly established by FPT in the Japanese market.

This cooperation is an important step, marking the synergy between two leading corporations in the fields of technology and finance, aiming to develop AI factories and cloud computing solutions in the Japanese market, contributing to making Japan an AI country. The investment contract implementation process is expected to be completed by the end of January 2025.

SBI Holdings, with its extensive experience and network in the financial sector, will contribute to the development of FPT's AI and Cloud company in Japan. FPT believes in the prospects of cooperation between the two companies, combining FPT's technological capabilities and SBI Holdings' experience, promising to create breakthrough values, meeting the increasing demand for cloud computing services and AI application solutions in Japan and the region.

According to IDC reports, the AI ​​market size is expected to exceed $130 billion by 2024 and reach $1,300 billion by 2032. In Japan, the AI ​​market is expected to reach $5.9 billion this year, growing by 31.2%.

Previously, FPT Corporation announced the construction of an AI Factory in November 2024 and the establishment of a company specializing in AI and Cloud in Japan to develop an ecosystem of products and solutions applying AI and Cloud technology, aiming to develop sovereign AI and turn Japan into an AI nation.

FPT representative said that AI Factory provides businesses with Cloud services using thousands of NVIDIA Hopper GPU graphics chips, the latest NVIDIA AI Enterprise application and technology framework, including 3 main product groups: FPT AI Infrastructure provides GPU cloud services to accelerate the construction and deployment of large AI models; FPT AI Studio platform provides smart tools, training and in-depth fine-tuning of AI models; FPT AI Inference allows the deployment and expansion of these models in terms of scale and number of uses effectively.
