With nearly 5 sao of specialized vegetable land, Mr. Vu Viet Le (Do Ha village) said that his family rotates the cultivation of kohlrabi, cauliflower, and cabbage, harvesting one crop per month, so the fields are always green and lush, providing year-round employment.

In the fields, households cover the beds of young vegetables with plastic to prevent the cold wind from wilting the leaves. The transparent plastic sheets stretched evenly over the fields keep the plants warm and the soil moist, helping the vegetables take root quickly and grow well before the cold weather.

Having been involved in vegetable growing for many years, Ms. Pham Thi Ngát (Do Ha village) said that all kinds of vegetables are selling well at this time. A bed of kale can sell for between 500,000 and 1.2 million VND, depending on the quality and harvest time.

Short-term vegetables such as Chinese cabbage, sweet cabbage, kohlrabi, etc., if the weather is favorable, can be harvested after only 20 days to 1 month of planting. Thanks to the quick rotation, farmers can plant many consecutive crops in the winter crop, both making use of the land and increasing income.
