On the morning of April 13th, the missile frigate squadron 015 Tran Hung Dao and the ship 016 Quang Trung (162nd Brigade, 4th Naval Region, Vietnam Navy) along with a delegation from the Vietnam Navy led by Colonel Do Minh, Deputy Commander of the 4th Naval Region, arrived at Beihai Naval Port (Beihai City, Guangxi Province, China).

Welcoming the Vietnamese Navy delegation were the commanders of the Chinese Navy's missile frigate squadron, Colonel Zhao Yanwu, Squadron Commander, and Colonel Wang Tao, Political Commissar. Colonel Zhao Yanwu expressed his pleasure at meeting the Vietnamese Navy delegation and hoped that the visit and exchange in China would leave many positive impressions on the members of the delegation.
According to assessments, during the sea maneuvers, the squadron commander consistently maintained strict watch duty and shift schedules, and handled situations effectively. Communication between the squadron and the Naval Command Headquarters and Region 4 was maintained smoothly.

During the voyage, officers and sailors of ships 015 and 016 practiced command and coordination, combat readiness, mastering technical equipment, and organized training on several operational aspects in preparation for exchanges and joint patrols with the Chinese Navy.
Missile frigate squadrons 015 and 016 traveled to China to participate in activities within the framework of the 9th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange and to conduct the 38th joint patrol in the Gulf of Tonkin with the Chinese Navy.
Here, the Vietnamese Navy will participate in activities with the Chinese Navy such as: meetings and exchanges between commanders of patrol ship squadrons and sports exchanges between officers and sailors of the two navies; organizing visits to each other's ships; conducting the 38th joint patrol in the Gulf of Tonkin; and joint training on search and rescue and maritime communication within the framework of joint patrols with the Chinese Navy.

During this mission, the Vietnamese missile frigate squadron will conduct training to enhance the command and control capabilities, operational proficiency in weapons and equipment, the ability to handle situations at sea, and to monitor the maritime situation along the route.
