Nguyen Hai Dang strives to compete in international badminton tournaments
The Indonesia Masters II badminton tournament is part of the BWF World Tour Super 100 series, with a total prize money of US$110,000 (approximately VND 2.8 billion). This tournament is at a higher level than the Vietnam International Series currently taking place in Ninh Binh, so Nguyen Hai Dang chose to compete hoping to advance deep into the tournament to accumulate points and continue climbing the BWF rankings.

With impressive international performance recently, Nguyen Hai Dang has risen to 55th in the world rankings, his highest career ranking. Thanks to this ranking, he has been selected as the 6th seed in the men's singles event at the ongoing Indonesia Masters II badminton tournament.
In the first round, Nguyen Hai Dang won 2-0 (21/13, 21/16) against Indonesian player Krishna Adi Nugraha (world No. 637). In the second round, which took place yesterday, Nguyen Hai Dang defeated Ong Zhen Yi (Malaysia, world No. 154) with a score of 2-1 (21/11, 19/21, 21/15), securing his place in the quarterfinals.
In the men's singles quarterfinals of the Indonesia Masters II badminton tournament held today, Nguyen Hai Dang will face Chinese player Dong Tian Yao (world No. 118). His opponent is considered formidable due to his high form, but Nguyen Hai Dang is also expected to have a strong performance to secure a place in the semifinals.
