The Oriental Light Festival 2025 is expected to be the largest Spring Festival in Vietnam, featuring 580 events taking place continuously over 58 days from January 18th to March 16th, with 1,000 culinary and shopping experiences, attracting millions of visitors to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Snake.
The 2025 Oriental Light Festival comprises numerous "festivals within festivals," with a continuous series of interwoven events creating a colorful spring universe, offering diverse experiences and promising an endless journey of captivating discovery .
The highlight, the "most creative and unique," is the Ocean International Lantern Festival - Eastern Light, opening on January 18th, showcasing the 15 best works from the final round of the Ocean International Lantern Competition. Giant, exquisitely designed, and unique lantern displays from teams in China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam will recreate the mythical world of the East with enchanting light and modern technology, such as "Lac Long Quan Returns," "The Sacred Soul of Vietnam," "The Shining Dragon of the East," or "Wings of the Future"...

Notably, for the first time, the world-renowned Yuyuan Lantern Festival will be present in Vietnam with a familiar theme inspired by Asian legends, titled "Shan Hai Yi Qi Ji" (Strange Tales of the Mountains and Seas). "Shan Hai Yi Qi Ji" depicts the world of mythical creatures described in the Shan Hai Jing – one of the oldest geographical texts in China, dating back to the Warring States period. Combined with designs inspired by the Linh Nam Chich Quai – a Vietnamese folk tale compiled and published at the end of the Tran Dynasty – the mythical creatures of both countries create a dazzling and magical world of "Eastern Mythical Creatures." The highlight of the exhibition is the works "Dong A Dragon Gate," "Fusang Sacred Tree," "Golden Turtle God," "White Dragon," and "Water Palace Princess,"... Recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of China, the Yuyuan Lantern Festival attracted 4 million visitors during the 2024 festival season in Shanghai, and also made a strong impression on the public in Paris (France) and globally.

Complementing the unique light displays is a nearly 2km-long lantern-lined pathway along the Pudong, San Ho streets and a section of VinWonders Waves Park. With the message "Shine for Life," this pathway not only offers the opportunity to admire the art of lanterns but also allows visitors to send their wishes for peace and prosperity in the new year on the Wishing Path, located on the San Ho street, illuminated by the magical purple light of the Sacred Tree.
Besides spectacular light displays, Ocean City also offers a series of the "best, tastiest, and most festive" Spring Festival destinations with the Ocean Spring Fair, comprising 3 main spring festival events with over 250 stalls. Starting with the 2025 Spring Festival (January 18th - 26th) themed "Bringing Tet Home - Happy Tet" at K-Town, featuring 116 stalls selling ornamental plants, food, Tet gifts, handicrafts, and specialties from 40 provinces and cities…
