Vietnamese Tet - Tet Pho 2024 spreads traditional cultural values

On January 22, information from the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter said that the event "Vietnamese Tet - Street Tet 2024" will open at Kim Ngan Communal House (42 Hang Bac, Hang Bac Ward) on January 28, with many rich activities.

At the opening ceremony, the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter coordinated with cultural researchers to organize a simulation of traditional rituals: a procession offering gifts at the communal house gate, a ceremony to report to the City God and worship the profession's founder, a pole-raising ceremony, etc.

Also at Kim Ngan communal house, from January 28 to February 28, 2024, the traditional Tet space will be decorated and arranged according to the theme of the 12 zodiac animals and the zodiac animal of 2024 - the Dragon.

At the Hanoi Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Center (50 Dao Duy Tu, Hang Buom Ward), there was a traditional music program by the Dong Kinh Ancient Music Group and experts and cultural researchers talking about the traditional Tet of the Vietnamese people.

On this occasion, at Ma May heritage house, there will be activities: Arrangement and organization of introduction of living space, Tet celebration of an old Hanoi family; organization of wrapping and boiling banh chung; introduction of the art of peeling, trimming and playing with daffodils...

At the Phung Hung Street Mural Space (Hang Ma Ward) from January 25th to February 9th, 2024 (15th to 30th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Rabbit), artisans and craftspeople from traditional craft villages in Hanoi and surrounding areas will showcase traditional folk products: Hang Trong, Kim Hoang, and Dong Ho folk paintings, calligraphy, ceramics, rattan and bamboo weaving, clay figurines, etc.

According to the Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board, the "Vietnamese Tet - Street Tet 2024" program aims to raise awareness about preserving and promoting cultural heritage values, contributing to the development of trade, services, tourism , and promoting the image of the Old Quarter in particular and Hanoi in general.

The program also expands community participation, creating opportunities for Vietnamese people across the country as well as overseas Vietnamese to connect with their roots, share unique regional cultural values, and jointly participate in activities to preserve and promote traditional cultural values.
