| Tien Waterfall possesses a gentle and captivating beauty. |
Tien Waterfall boasts a unique scenic location, situated halfway up Deo Gio mountain. Viewed from above, Deo Gio mountain winds and twists, creating a magnificent landscape. This scenic spot was classified as a national-level landmark in 2009. Tien Waterfall is also known as Gio Waterfall, Tang Tinh (in the Nung language), and sometimes as Doi Waterfall (Twin Waterfalls).
Tien Waterfall originates from the Ta Ngan stream in Ta Cu Ty commune, Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province (formerly), at an altitude of over 1,400m above sea level. As it flows through Nam Dan commune, the water cascades down from a height of 70 meters at Deo Gio pass, creating a magnificent natural waterfall. The cascading water resembles a soft, white silk ribbon, captivating the senses. Despite its great height, Tien Waterfall is not overly boisterous or fierce; on the contrary, it is very gentle and melodious. The waterfall never dries up throughout the year, remaining calm and gentle during both the rainy and dry seasons. The water flow is fairly evenly distributed thanks to the dense vegetation and relatively high humidity.

Tien Waterfall - Deo Gio Pass has two streams: The right stream is the main one, divided into two tiers, with the second tier cascading down into a pool of water, creating a white sheet of water. The left stream flows parallel with a smaller flow rate. At the foot of the waterfall, visitors can immerse themselves in clear blue pools of water about 3-5 meters deep and 15-20 meters wide. The water from the waterfall forms a stream that is not too deep, very calm, peaceful, and crystal clear all year round, allowing you to see all the way to the bottom. This stream is the source of the Ta Lan stream flowing to Nam Dan village. The stream water is shallow but quite cold due to its altitude of over 1,000 meters. Strong winds blow at the foot of the waterfall, hence it is also called Wind Waterfall, carrying mist and creating a cool, refreshing atmosphere.

Tien Waterfall - Gio Pass is located within a pristine forest with a rich and diverse ecosystem. As visitors traverse the winding mountain roads, they will immerse themselves in a world of pure nature. The unspoiled vegetation is abundant, including colorful wild orchids, herbs, small mushrooms, and precious thousand-year-old trees. Surrounding the waterfall area are vast green forests interspersed with ancient trees hundreds of years old. Currently, there are still some rosewood trees around 500 years old, with diameters exceeding 2 meters. This area is of great value for research in biology, geology, meteorology, and is an important watershed protection forest.

| The gentle beauty of the waterfall captivates every visitor... |
At Tien Waterfall, visitors can enjoy the fresh, cool, and poetic atmosphere; the sound of babbling streams and chirping forest birds; the scenery here is likened to a fairyland on earth. Besides admiring the waterfall, visitors can also explore the Nam Dan Ancient Stone Field (travel downhill for about 6 km to reach the ancient stone field that bears the mark of ancient Vietnamese habitation, dating back up to 2,000 years). They can also visit a trout farm (from the top of Deo Gio Pass, you can go uphill to visit the freshwater trout farm - one of the successful experimental farms for this species in Vietnam), or wade in the stream in the summer and frolic in the cool water at the foot of the waterfall…
With its abundant natural potential, Tien Waterfall - Gio Pass promises to be an attractive eco- tourism and cultural destination for both domestic and international visitors.
