In his speech commemorating the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2021), the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized: "Young people must be the pioneers in implementing the policy of promoting national digital transformation; developing the digital economy on the basis of science and technology, innovation; must be the first and most active in deep integration with the world...". Accepting that advice, Thanh Hoa youth have made efforts to innovate the way of organizing and operating unions and associations in line with the trend of the digital age.
According to Thanh Hoa Newspaper, online payment methods such as bank transfers or e-wallets like Zalo Pay, Momo, Shopee Pay, etc., are becoming increasingly popular. Recognizing their convenience, young people are quickly adopting these methods, changing their habits and leading the trend of cashless payments. The phrase "QR code payment" has become familiar to most youth union members.

She added that electricity and water bills, phone subscriptions, and train/bus tickets can all be paid quickly on her phone.
Not only residents, but also shops throughout the province are proactively adopting online payment methods to increase convenience for customers. Nguyen Thanh Luan, owner of a computer repair and sales shop on Tho Hac Street, shared: “Since registering for online payment applications, most customers have switched to paying via bank transfer. This helps me optimize my financial management.” He also believes that young people need to be pioneers in applying technology and be ready to guide their relatives to benefit from digital transformation.
Digital transformation is creating a global wave and young people are playing the leading role. In 2025, with the theme "Youth pioneering digital transformation", Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union promotes movements associated with education on ideals and ethics; organizes online competitions; supports new rural construction... attracting thousands of union members to participate and strongly spread the spirit of digital transformation.
Currently, the province effectively maintains over 4,000 community digital transformation groups; the rate of young people accessing digital skills enhancement activities reaches over 70%; online public services and electronic payments are becoming increasingly popular. Many outstanding models have been replicated, such as "digitizing historical revolutionary sites," "culinary maps," "cashless wedding streets," "smart tourism using virtual reality," and "online volunteer activity registration"... Notably, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has implemented two provincial-level projects to digitize historical revolutionary sites and organized online competitions to learn about digital transformation among union members.
According to Lê Ngọc Ánh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union: “To date, digital transformation has spread widely among union members and young people in union and association work and daily life,” affirming that this is an “opportunity” for young people to demonstrate their intelligence and responsibility. Youth union branches at all levels will continue to promote the application of technology in management and operation and gradually shift the activities of the youth union organization to the digital environment.
