The Gioi Di Dong donates 10,000 rice cookers to people affected by floods

According to Mr. Doan Van Hieu Em, CEO of Mobile World Joint Stock Company, the number of Mobile World/Dien May Xanh (TGDĐ/ĐMX) stores in the flood-hit area directly affected by the storm accounts for about 3 - 5% of the total number of stores in the system.

From September 4th to now, dozens to hundreds of TGDĐ/ĐMX stores have been affected depending on the daily developments of the storm and flood situation. Therefore, revenue has also been affected accordingly. The number of stores most affected was on September 7th when Typhoon Yagi made direct landfall in Hanoi and the northern provinces.

While the floods continue and become increasingly severe, the company's top priority is to ensure the safety of employees and their families, and to minimize material damage at stores and central warehouses.

“We constantly update information from the press, coordinate and follow the instructions of local authorities and closely monitor the actual situation at each store to have a proactive plan to prevent natural disasters and minimize damage. We have developed scenarios to restore stores as soon as possible to reopen for sale as soon as the storm and flood recede. In addition, we also strive to ensure adequate inventory of essential products such as backup chargers, rechargeable lamps, gas stoves and household products... to serve people, as well as deploy support programs to help people buy back home appliances damaged during the storm and flood season,” Mr. Hieu Em shared.

Although the stores were heavily affected by the storm and flood, the CEO also said that the company is urgently working with suppliers to prepare an order of 10,000 rice cookers to give to people in difficult circumstances in heavily affected areas to quickly rebuild normal life right after the storm and flood recede.

The spirit of sharing difficulties with consumers is a tradition of this unit. In recent years, the company has continuously implemented programs to donate rice and rice cookers to people in mountainous areas, and to donate cleft palate surgeries to children... During the historic flood in Central Vietnam in 2020, TGDĐ also implemented many programs to sell goods at cost price and donate rice to support people to overcome natural disasters.
