Speaking at the workshop, General Secretary of the Union of Associations Nguyen Quyet Chien emphasized that young intellectuals are an important force, full of enthusiasm, capable of quickly adapting to the requirements of integration and digital transformation. This is the core resource to promote innovation, contributing to the rapid and sustainable development of the country.

In order to effectively implement Resolution 45-NQ/TW dated November 24, 2023 of the 8th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee on continuing to build and promote the role of intellectuals to meet the requirements of rapid and sustainable national development in the new period, the Vietnam Union of Intellectuals Associations has issued specific action programs and plans, clearly demonstrating political determination and initiative in promoting the role of intellectuals, especially young intellectuals.

Reality shows that attracting and gathering young intellectuals to participate in the activities of the Federation of Associations system still faces many difficulties and obstacles, from mechanisms, policies to operating environment and appropriate approaches. The proportion of young intellectuals in member associations and affiliated organizations is not high, the content and form of activities are not attractive enough. This workshop is an opportunity to assess the current situation, share good models, propose specific and creative solutions, thereby creating a favorable environment, building an effective connection space to strongly promote the role of young intellectuals in the process of national development.

According to Dr. Le Cong Luong, Deputy Secretary General of the Federation of Associations, in the context of the country's strong changes in organizational structure, development goals and strategic orientation to 2045, the role of young intellectuals is becoming increasingly important. This is a force that is well-trained, quickly accessing new knowledge, has great creative potential and high adaptability to the requirements of the digital age.

Although the number of university students and PhDs has increased rapidly in recent years, the growth rate of the research and development team is still low, not commensurate with the requirements of science and technology development. One of the major challenges is the uneven quality of training, many graduates lack practical skills, and businesses have to retrain. To promote the role of young intellectuals, it is necessary to build appropriate attraction mechanisms, invest in the academic environment, innovate gathering methods and encourage young intellectuals to participate deeply in research and application activities and contribute to the development of the country.

According to Ms. Ha Hoang Yen, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technical Innovation, attracting young intellectuals to participate in scientific and technological activities is an urgent requirement in the current period. To be effective, it is necessary to focus on innovating the content and methods of operation to create a creative and attractive environment for young intellectuals; there needs to be more specific solutions to increase the substantive participation of young intellectuals. Designing activities that are suitable to the needs, strengths and innovation trends of young people, while enhancing communication and connection with businesses and training institutions are necessary directions.

At the workshop, delegates proposed to continue to innovate the content and methods of operation to create a favorable environment, attracting young intellectuals to participate deeply in scientific and technological innovation movements, start-ups, and innovation; there should be a coordination mechanism between member associations, affiliated units and non-public organizations to expand the space for young intellectuals to operate. Some specific solutions were proposed such as: strengthening the organization of forums, awards, and young intellectual clubs; connecting business intellectuals and promoting youth work in the system of the Federation of Associations to create sustainable attraction for the next generation of intellectuals...
