Prime Minister gives Tet gifts to policy families and workers in Thanh Hoa

(NLĐO) - During his visit and Tet gift-giving in Thanh Hoa , Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the local authorities to pay attention to and visit workers who worked throughout Tet on key projects.

On January 26th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with leaders from central ministries and agencies and Thanh Hoa province, visited and presented gifts to families receiving preferential treatment, poor households, and workers in Ngoc Lac district. Also attending the program were Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; and Mr. Nguyen Doan Anh, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee.

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that in 2024, Thanh Hoa province achieved many comprehensive achievements in various aspects, such as double-digit economic growth, good budget revenue, and effective social welfare work. With the tradition of "heroic Thanh Hoa," the Prime Minister hoped that Thanh Hoa would continue to unite within the Party, government, society, and people... to successfully complete its tasks and build a more developed province. This includes leveraging the advantages of its large population and the inherent qualities of Thanh Hoa people – diligence and aspiration for progress.

The Prime Minister noted that the Party Central Committee and the Government have issued directives to ensure a happy Tet holiday for the people. Therefore, Party committees and authorities at all levels should go deep into the community, down to the grassroots, and directly to the people to review the situation of poor households, single-parent households, those with difficult circumstances, policy beneficiary families, and families with meritorious contributions to the revolution, to see if anyone is lacking food, clothing, or a proper Tet holiday, so that measures can be taken to provide care, especially in mountainous and border districts; paying attention to households lacking rice, food, or those who are sick.

"Party committees and authorities also need to pay attention to workers in industrial zones, arranging visits to encourage workers and laborers who are working 'three shifts, four teams' and 'working throughout Tet and holidays' on key projects..." - the Prime Minister emphasized.

According to the head of government, 2025 is a year of many important events for the country, and also the year in which we are actively implementing Resolution 18-NQ/TW on streamlining the organizational apparatus. Therefore, Thanh Hoa province must review its structure in accordance with the central government's directives; quickly rearrange and reorganize the apparatus, stabilize the situation, and immediately get to work. The Prime Minister instructed the Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee to actively direct this work, ensuring that it is not interrupted or stalled, especially in matters related to the people and businesses.

The Prime Minister requested that this year, the whole country is striving to ensure growth of at least 8%, and in the coming years, double-digit growth must be ensured. Therefore, Thanh Hoa must maintain its momentum and pace for growth in 2025. The province must renew traditional growth drivers (investment, consumption, exports), promote new growth drivers such as digital transformation, innovation, circular economy, knowledge economy, etc., ensuring that growth in the following year is higher than the previous year.

The Prime Minister expressed confidence that Thanh Hoa would succeed because it has momentum, enthusiasm, and a spirit of preparation for double-digit growth in the next term; Thanh Hoa must strive for even higher growth because of its large population and relatively small economic scale…

The Prime Minister requested that the province prepare well for the Party Congress at all levels, develop Party committee and leadership policies that are relevant, appropriate, feasible, and effective; select the "right and suitable" personnel, ensuring safety; and not affect the targets set.

Organize well the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term and organize major national events such as: the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and national reunification, the 135th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh, and the 80th anniversary of National Day, ensuring practicality and effectiveness...

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested Thanh Hoa province to closely adhere to the tasks for 2025, uphold the spirit of solidarity and unity to excellently complete all tasks, and together with the whole country, enter a new era - an era of striving for development, prosperity, civilization, and strength, where the people are increasingly happy and well-off.

The Prime Minister noted that Thanh Hoa province must renew its traditional growth drivers and promote new ones. This includes promoting, expanding, and developing the Nghi Son economic zone and other key economic drivers, including the "four mountains": Nghi Son, Sam Son, Bim Son, and Lam Son. Alongside this, the province should focus on eliminating temporary and dilapidated housing, aiming for a total of no temporary or dilapidated housing by 2025; and constructing housing for workers and low-income earners, ensuring that people can "settle down and prosper."

The Prime Minister hopes and believes that the Party Committee, the government, the entire political system, the military, and the people of Thanh Hoa province will continue to unite, demonstrate high determination, make great efforts, and act decisively to successfully complete the tasks of 2025 with better results than in 2024, making Thanh Hoa a true driving force for national growth.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang; and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Doan Anh presented gifts to representatives of policy beneficiary families, poor households, workers, and laborers in difficult circumstances. Sovico Group announced a donation to Thanh Hoa province to build 300 houses for policy beneficiary families and poor people in Thanh Hoa province who are still facing housing difficulties.

Hundreds of billions of dong are being spent to care for the poor and families entitled to preferential policies.

According to a report by the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province, the entire province has paid preferential allowances for January and February to more than 64,000 people with meritorious services to the revolution and their relatives, with a total budget of over 420 billion VND; paid social allowances for January 2025 to 187,494 individuals and households caring for and nurturing social welfare beneficiaries, with a total budget of over 142 billion VND; and provided care, treatment, ensured good policies and regulations, and organized Tet celebrations for over 2,000 individuals being cared for, nurtured, and managed at public social assistance facilities, rehabilitation centers for people with meritorious services to the revolution, and drug rehabilitation centers in the province.

Provincial authorities and departments have allocated budgets and mobilized social resources totaling 375.192 billion VND in cash and goods to donate to policy beneficiary families, poor households, and people in difficult circumstances. They have supported the construction and repair of over 4,200 houses for poor households, policy beneficiary families, and households facing housing difficulties, contributing to creating safe and peaceful homes for people during Tet (Lunar New Year).
