The process of scar healing

Wound healing is a normal biological process in the human body to repair and heal injuries and wounds. When injured, the body initiates a series of biological responses to begin the healing process. This is a complex, dynamic process aimed at replacing and repairing damaged and defective tissue.

The wound healing process is divided into four stages:

  • Stop bleeding.
  • Inflammation
  • Proliferation
  • Reorganization

The wound healing process goes through 4 stages.

Silicone scar patches - A non-invasive scar treatment method.

Perkins et al. first applied and found the potential usefulness of silicone scar patches in treating burn scars and contracture scars in the early 1980s. Ahn et al.'s research also showed the effectiveness of silicone scar patches in treating large, chronic scars. Several years later, numerous studies were conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of medical-grade silicone scar patches in treating keloid and hypertrophic scars.

Silicone scar patches work by stabilizing homeostasis, creating a protective coating, inhibiting mast cell activity, reducing edema and vasodilation, and controlling excessive extracellular matrix formation. The electrostatic field created by the silicone patch also participates in collagen deposition. Furthermore, silicone scar patches and silicone gels are proven effective non-invasive scar treatments.

The role of silicone scar patches is to help:

  • Reduce the size and volume of scars.
  • Soften and flatten scars.
  • Fading scars
  • Improvement of symptoms: color (reduced darkening, redness), itching, pain, etc.

Rejuvaskin's Scar FX scar prevention and reduction patches are a top choice for professionals and users alike in managing and minimizing scars. The product's advantages include moderate adhesion, reduced tension on the scar, protective coverage, and multiple reuse.
