Mr. Truong Van Phuong, Director of EPS Company (in the middle), receives the official letter assigning him the O&M task for Phu My 3 Power Plant.
Phu My 3 Power Plant is one of the first power plant projects in Vietnam to be invested in under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) model, with a contract capacity of 716.8 MW. The project began commercial operation on March 1, 2004, with a term of 20 years and was transferred to Vietnam without compensation on March 1, 2024.
The government assigned the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) the task of receiving, operating, managing, maintaining, and preserving the plant. With experience in managing, operating, and repairing similar gas-fired power plants like the Phu My 3 plant in the Phu My power center, EVN assigned Power Generation Corporation 3 (Generation 3) to manage, operate, and repair the plant. EPS (Electricity Production Corporation 3) is the lead unit responsible for receiving the plant and implementing the management, operation, repair, and maintenance contract.
Power Generation Corporation 3 also requested EPS to promote, research, and apply technological solutions to ensure the availability of generating units, meet the mobilization needs of the national power system, and effectively carry out environmental protection and social welfare work in the area.
