Organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival for children is a fine tradition of the Vietnamese people. To ensure that children across the country can enjoy a safe and healthy Mid-Autumn Festival, following Official Dispatch No. 3769/CV-UBQGVTE dated September 13, 2023 of the National Committee for Children, the Department of Children ( Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs ) has just issued Official Dispatch No. 645/TE-CSTE dated September 19, 2023 requesting the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of provinces/cities under the Central Government to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and organizations to ensure the safety of children during the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2023 according to the following contents:

Organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival 2023 for children needs to ensure safety and health

1. Ensure fire and explosion safety for children when using Mid-Autumn Festival toys containing materials with high risk of fire and explosion (star lanterns, candle lanterns, balloons using flammable gas causing fire and explosion, etc.), limit campfires and fireworks during moon-watching activities at home and in public areas.

2. Ensure safety and prevent risks of accidents, injuries, and poisoning for toys stored, circulated, and sold during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

3. Ensure food hygiene and safety, prevent poisoning for children with cakes, candies, fruits, drinks and other foods used in Mid-Autumn Festival activities.

4. Ensure safety for vehicles and routes with a large number of children and people participating in traffic during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

5. Strengthen the work of checking, inspecting and examining before and during the organization of Mid-Autumn Festival activities to promptly prevent and eliminate risks of accidents and injuries to children and participants.
