Accordingly, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the People's Committees at the commune level to proactively develop a plan and implement the program "Week of household hazardous waste collection" based on the funding source for implementing the Environmental Pollution Reduction Program for the period 2020-2030.
This includes intensifying widespread public awareness campaigns to educate people, guiding them to develop the habit of properly sorting and disposing of household hazardous waste in designated areas. Simultaneously, it involves maintaining and expanding household hazardous waste collection points in wards and communes, increasing the volume and composition of household hazardous waste that is sorted, collected, and processed according to regulations.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Environment is tasked with monitoring, urging, and guiding the People's Committees at the commune level to effectively implement the above-mentioned tasks. Simultaneously, it will research and propose solutions for implementation in communes, wards, and special zones.
