Propaganda poster celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army

(CLO) On the afternoon of November 8th in Hanoi, the Propaganda Department of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army held a ceremony to summarize and award prizes for the campaign to create propaganda posters commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day.

After nine months of launching and implementation, the Organizing Committee received participation from 728 authors with 1,394 propaganda posters. The works featured diverse forms and styles, rich content, and accurately identified the key objectives and requirements of the campaign. Many works were of high quality, meticulously and seriously invested in both ideological content and form, conveying profound messages and creating a strong impression.

The propaganda posters focused on highlighting the themes of the armed forces and revolutionary war, vividly portraying the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers; widely disseminating to the people and soldiers nationwide the spirit of military-civilian solidarity, the glorious 80-year tradition of building, fighting, and maturing of the Vietnamese Army; and widely spreading the contributions and achievements of the armed forces and the people nationwide in the current cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

After 8 rounds of judging (2 preliminary rounds, 6 official rounds), the judging panel selected 150 works by 80 authors of the highest quality to be published as a book of propaganda posters; and also selected 80 works to be displayed at the Exhibition commemorating 80 years of literature and art of the Vietnam People's Army at Ho Guom pedestrian street from December 20 to 22, 2024.

At the closing ceremony and awards presentation, the Organizing Committee awarded the A prize to the work "The Heroic Vietnamese People's Army of the Heroic Vietnamese Nation" by author Nguyen Cong Quang ( Hanoi ); and two B prizes: "The Army and the People United in Will" by author Nguyen Tuan Long, Propaganda Department, General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, and "Peace for the Seas and Islands of the Homeland" by author Nguyen Hien Luong (Hanoi).

Three third prizes were awarded to: “The Hung Kings built the nation, we must together protect it” by Nguyen Cong Quang (Hanoi), “Building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern People's Army” by Bach Thi Loi ( Vinh Phuc ), and “Protecting the Fatherland early, from afar, preserving the country before it is in danger” by Nguyen Phuong Giang (Hanoi); nine consolation prizes were awarded to other works and authors.
