On September 20th, the Department of Culture and Sports, in coordination with the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, held the closing ceremony and awards presentation for the international painting competition “I Love Hanoi - City for Peace ” 2025.
Over the years, the competition has become one of the prominent cultural and artistic activities, actively contributing to spreading the spirit of love for Hanoi , the aspiration for peace, and national pride to a large number of young people.

More than just a creative playground for children, the competition also serves as a cultural bridge, fostering a spirit of humanity, a yearning for peace, and promoting the image of Hanoi as a creative, cultured, civilized, and modern city to international friends.
Organized to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day on September 2nd, and the 26th anniversary of Hanoi being recognized by UNESCO as a City for Peace, the competition received over 38,000 entries from 345 units, schools, and art clubs in Hanoi, along with over 200 entries from children from embassies, foreign organizations, and international schools. The large number of entries, conveying messages of peace, cooperation, and affection for Hanoi, is vivid evidence of the capital's appeal as a City for Peace.

Pham Xuan Tai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, affirmed that the coordination in organizing the event with the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations ensured the prestige and scale of the competition, while also promoting the spirit of solidarity and international cooperation.
The title of "City for Peace" awarded by UNESCO in 1999 not only affirms Hanoi's position on the international stage, but also serves as proof of the capital's persistent efforts in building peace, sustainable development, and creating a Hanoi that is "Cultural - Civilized - Modern".
The competition's message is all the more profound and meaningful in the context of a world still in turmoil. The submitted works reflected a resonance with this message, expressing the desire for a peaceful Hanoi and a world free from war and poverty.
