This year's awards are divided into five categories, clearly reflecting the spirit of Resolution 57 of the Politburo on science, technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

Specifically, 3 individuals were honored in the fields of information technology, digital transformation and automation; 2 individuals in the field of medical and pharmaceutical technology; 1 individual in the field of biotechnology; and 2 individuals each in the fields of environmental technology and new materials technology.

Breakthroughs from nanomaterials to artificial intelligence

In the information technology - digital transformation and automation group, Dr. Le Duy Dung (VinUni University) attracted attention with his project of integrating artificial intelligence into the synthesis process of environmentally friendly materials, aiming to reduce emissions and pollution.

Dr. Vu Thai Hoc (Thu Dau Mot University) stands out with his research on non-orthogonal multiple access systems based on smart reflective surfaces, opening up potential for 5G networks and the Internet of Things.

Dr. Nguyen Pham Nhat Thien Minh (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore) made his mark with his research on multi-model sensor fusion for autonomous robots, promising to develop smart vehicles in urban areas.

The field of medical technology recognized Dr. Mai Ngoc Xuan Dat (Ho Chi Minh City National University) for developing biodegradable organic silica nanomaterials, applied in drug delivery and cancer therapy.

Dr. Le Quoc Viet focuses on smart drug delivery systems from biological materials, serving photothermal and immunotherapy, improving treatment effectiveness and reducing side effects.

Dr. Dang Thi Le Hang (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) is the only scientist to win the award in the field of biotechnology, with her work developing smart biomedical materials from natural polymers, capable of regenerating tissue and supporting the treatment of chronic diseases.

Sustainable energy solutions and continental-scale flood forecasting

Two environmental technology scientists are both working at world- leading research facilities.

Dr. Pham Anh Tuan (KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden) develops an integrated energy foundation solution that both increases the stability of the project and exploits on-site renewable energy, aiming for sustainable climate-adaptive infrastructure.

Dr. Tran Ngoc Vinh (University of Michigan, USA) applies artificial intelligence to forecast continental-scale floods, improving accuracy and economic value in disaster warning work.

The field of new materials technology honored MSc. Nguyen Ba Manh (Institute of Chemistry, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) for his research on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) applied in defense, clean energy and environmental treatment, of which one product has been practically deployed at Brigade 86, Chemical Corps.

Dr. Nguyen Van Tuan (Military Technical Academy) is recognized for his research on InSb material membranes for manufacturing infrared sensors, opening up prospects for applications in both civil and defense fields.

According to the organizers, the winners of the 2025 Golden Globe Awards will receive the "Creative Youth" badge, the Golden Globe trophy, a certificate and a prize of VND20 million. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on October 28-29 in Hanoi.
