On the morning of September 19, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) held a conference to deploy the crop development plan for 2025 and the winter crop production plan for 2024-2025. Comrade Cao Van Cuong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the DARD chaired the conference.

Attending the event were representatives of leaders of districts, towns and cities in the province, companies exploiting irrigation works, enterprises producing and trading plant varieties, supplying agricultural materials, linking production, purchasing and processing agricultural products in the province.

At the conference, representatives of the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection approved the crop development plan for 2025 and the winter crop production plan for 2024-2025. Accordingly, in 2025, the agricultural sector will continue to comprehensively develop crop production in a concentrated, large-scale direction on the basis of promoting land accumulation, forming concentrated production areas, applying high-tech agriculture and organic agriculture from production to processing and consumption; creating a concentrated, large-scale, high-quality and high-value-added volume of goods, forming closed value chains. Strive to complete and exceed the plan and targets set by the 19th Provincial Party Congress and Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term.
By 2025, the whole province strives to stabilize food output at 1.5 million tons; the area of land accumulated for large-scale, high-tech agricultural development will increase by 4,200 hectares or more; the growth rate of added value (VA) will reach 2% or more; the average income/ha of cultivated land will reach 127 million VND (current price) or more. The area of newly planted fruit trees will focus on 2,000 hectares with high-value fruit trees associated with processing such as mango, pineapple, orange, grapefruit, dragon fruit, lychee and longan.

In the 2024-2025 winter crop production, the whole province strives to cultivate 47,000 hectares or more. Of which, corn is 14,000 hectares, yielding 48 quintals/ha, output of 67,200 tons; sweet potatoes are 2,000 hectares, yielding 76 quintals/ha, output of 15,200 tons; peanuts are 1,300 hectares, yielding 21 quintals/ha, output of 2,730 tons; vegetables, beans of all kinds and other crops are 29,700 hectares... The total production value of the winter crop is 3,570.2 billion VND or more, averaging 76 million VND/ha of planting or more. The area of production linkage and product consumption of the winter crop is 8,000-10,000 hectares. Attracting 25-30 enterprises inside and outside the province to invest in production linkage and product consumption in the winter crop.

To achieve that goal, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has set out 3 tasks and 6 solutions requiring localities and units to review targets and objectives, develop plans for the development of the crop sector in 2025, strive to complete and exceed the annual and term plans, contributing to the achievements in welcoming Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress. In which, the key targets and objectives include: Food output, concentrated land area, crop growth rate, value-added growth rate (VA), high-tech application area, organic agriculture application area, average income per unit area...

Also at the conference, representatives of the Thanh Hoa Hydrometeorological Station presented weather forecasts for the last months of 2024 and 2025; the Irrigation Sub-Department presented irrigation and drainage plans for winter crops in 2024-2025. Delegates discussed advantages and disadvantages in production; analyzed the causes and proposed key solutions to effectively implement the crop development plan in 2025 and the winter crop production plan in 2024-2025 in the province.
