Speaking on the sidelines of the press conference for the 2024 Durian Festival on the morning of July 18th, Ms. Ngo Thi Minh Trinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Krong Pak district, said that in just two years, 2022 and 2023, the entire district added more than one thousand cars.

Most cars owned by residents in Krông Pắk district are priced from 300 to 500 million VND or more, with many costing billions of VND. Those who were able to buy cars mainly benefited from their successful durian harvests in 2022 and 2023.

Mr. Ma Gi (born in 1974, residing in Jung 2 hamlet, Ea Yong commune, Krong Pak district) shared that his family has nearly 2 hectares of durian trees that are currently being harvested. In 2023, his family harvested more than 30 tons, earning nearly 2 billion VND in profit after deducting expenses.

"In our village, many families have struck it rich with durian. Thanks to this fruit, our families have been able to save up and even buy cars. This year, our family's durian harvest is estimated to reach over 30 tons," said Mr. Ma Gi.

The family of Mr. Y Phul Niê (Jung hamlet, Ea Yông commune) also faced many difficulties in the past. Thanks to successful durian harvests in recent years, the family has been able to build a spacious house and buy a car.

With over 1.6 hectares of durian trees currently producing fruit, Y Phul's family earns an average of over 1 billion VND per year.

"Thanks to the durian trees, my family has overcome difficulties, built a house, and bought a car for transportation," Mr. Y Phul Niê proudly shared.

According to Ms. Ngo Thi Minh Trinh, thanks to the successful durian harvest, many households in the district have been able to buy cars. Specifically, in 2022, people in Krong Pak district bought more than 400 cars of various types. By 2023, people in the area continued to buy another 600 cars.

"Currently, the price of durian at the farm is 92,000 VND/kg, people are continuing to profit from the price, and the number of people buying cars will skyrocket in the near future," Ms. Trinh added.

According to statistics, in 2024, Krông Pắk district had 8,157 hectares of durian trees. The durian production in 2024 reached over 92,000 tons.

Among them, there are many durian varieties that yield high quality and good production, such as Dona, Ri6, Musang King, etc.
