Accordingly, the Da Nang Department of Education and Training requested schools to remind students and their parents to exercise caution when traveling in adverse weather conditions.
Schools are informing students and parents of students living far from the school that if they encounter difficulties or dangers while traveling on flooded roads, they can contact their homeroom teacher and request permission for the student to be absent from school (the school will ensure that supplementary learning support is provided for the student).
Based on weather conditions, if localized flooding occurs, schools and centers under the Department of Education and Training shall report and propose to the Department's leadership to decide whether to allow preschool children, students, and trainees at affiliated units to take time off from school.
The Departments of Education and Training of districts and counties, in coordination with schools, will advise the chairmen of the People's Committees of districts and counties on decisions regarding school closures for preschool children, primary and secondary school students; private universities will proactively decide on the attendance of students and trainees.
The Department of Education and Training requires that early notification of school closures for preschool children, students, and trainees is necessary to allow for proactive implementation and avoid disruptions, especially in transportation and the implementation of boarding programs.
The Department also requested that units and schools regularly update information on the current heavy rainfall situation; maintain communication through multiple channels to proactively respond safely and minimize damage caused by heavy rain.
According to the forecast of the Central Central Region Meteorological and Hydrological Station: From September 19-20, Da Nang City will experience moderate to heavy rain, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain, posing a risk of flash floods, landslides, and localized flooding, severely impacting the environment and threatening people's lives; causing traffic congestion in many areas and affecting the movement of vehicles…
