Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company (Haraco) said that from September 15, the railway will test the QR code scanning application to order products and services on the Thong Nhat SE1/SE2, SE19/SE20 Hanoi - Da Nang trains and trains on the Hanoi - Hai Phong route.

Train passengers can scan QR codes on train carriages to order products, services, and regional specialties on the train journey (Photo: Train staff scan QR codes, check the application).

Accordingly, QR codes will be posted on the seats or in the sleeping compartments. Passengers will use their smartphones to scan the QR code and will be linked to the sales website. On this page, passengers can choose to buy food and drinks to use right on the train by checking the items they want to buy. The system will record and notify the train staff, who will meet the passenger to confirm and notify the food service staff to serve the product to the passenger.

Similarly, if a customer chooses to order a regional specialty, the staff will also come to confirm with the passenger about the item and quantity. However, the specialty must be associated with a location, for example, grilled veal at Cau Mong ( Quang Nam ), banh bot loc (Hue)..., so before the train arrives at the station that stops at this location at least 20 minutes, the staff must confirm the order with the customer. After this time, the system will no longer display the specialty at this location, but only the specialty at the next location on the train's journey.

After the customer's order is confirmed, the goods will be delivered to the station so that when the train stops, the train staff will receive the goods and deliver them to the passenger. Passengers can choose different payment methods: cash or bank transfer... Regarding the price, the transport branches work with suppliers to ensure quality goods and reasonable prices.

Haraco also provides specific instructions on how to order regional products when trains pass by or on-board products served throughout the journey: Passengers scan the QR code affixed to the wall of the sleeping compartment, behind the seat or the wall of the seating car and access the link displayed after scanning. Customers select [Add to cart] to add the product to the cart. When the customer selects [Order], the system displays a list of items the customer has chosen to buy and a screen to enter the passenger's ordering information (full name, phone number). The customer confirms [Order], the screen displays a completion notification.
