From a boy collecting scrap metal to a PhD student at a top university in the world

(Dan Tri) - Pang Zhongwang is currently a doctoral student at Tsinghua University (China). He used to earn a living as a trash collector since he was a child, and now Zhongwang has become a cultural ambassador for his hometown.

Having attracted attention for his journey of overcoming difficulties to enter Tsinghua University, Pang Zhongwang has always been mentioned by Chinese media as an inspirational figure. Zhongwang comes from a particularly poor family in Wuqiao County, Hebei Province, China.

Recently, Chung Vong was mentioned again by the media in the country of a billion people when the young man was appointed by the government in Ngo Kieu district as an expert advisor and cultural and tourism ambassador for his hometown.

Chung Vong is currently a PhD student majoring in precision instrumentation at Tsinghua University, China's top university. At the age of 26, he has published several scientific research articles in specialized journals in China.

In 2017, Chung Vong caused a stir in public opinion when he scored 684/750 points in the university entrance exam, an excellent result in a particularly difficult family situation. Chung Vong's father is mentally ill, and his mother is paralyzed in both legs. Chung Vong had to pick up trash to earn a living, to take care of himself and his parents.

When the story of Pang Zhongwang was mentioned by Chinese media, many benefactors offered to help him financially so that he could study in peace, but Zhongwang refused. He lived a rather private life during his university years.

Recently, the government of Ngo Kieu district - Bang Chung Vong's hometown - officially appointed him as an expert advisor to local authorities and cultural and tourism ambassador.

Pang Zhongwang’s optimistic spirit is something that is often emphasized by the Chinese media. Despite being born and raised in extremely difficult circumstances, Zhongwang always shows joy and optimism.

"My mother taught me to always be optimistic and look forward. My mother smiles every day, so I have no reason to be sad," Chung Vong once shared.

A recent post by Pang Zhongwang about his career orientation also went viral on Chinese social media. He emphasized: "The mission of our generation is to serve the country through scientific research."
