On the afternoon of August 2nd, in Mong Cai City, the Border Guard Command of Quang Ninh province (Vietnam) and the Border Guard of Guangxi region (China) conducted their first joint patrol of 2024.

A patrol team from the Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard Command, led by Colonel Tran Van Thanh, Deputy Commander of the Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard, and a patrol team from the Guangxi Border Guard Command (China), led by Lieutenant Colonel Lei Hongfu, Deputy Commander of the Guangxi Border Guard Command (China), launched the first bilateral patrol program of 2024.

Following the deployment ceremony, the bilateral patrol forces from both sides conducted an inspection of the border system and boundary markers from M1376 to M1378+1650 and related issues in the area.

Both sides inspected the condition of the Vietnam-China border marker posts at sea.
Upon inspection, both sides agreed that the border markers and boundary posts were in their original condition, with no signs of displacement or damage. The patrols did not detect any violations of border regulations within their assigned areas and ensured absolute safety in all aspects.

The patrol process ensures absolute safety for personnel, weapons, equipment, and vehicles.

At the end of the patrol, the two sides held a debriefing meeting and signed a bilateral patrol report.

The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the bilateral border patrol between Vietnam and China.
Accordingly, the two sides discussed and agreed on solutions to continue maintaining the effectiveness of coordinated border management and protection, preserving security and order, strengthening coordination, promptly exchanging information related to the border, and successfully completing patrol tasks. The two sides also agreed to strengthen education, propaganda, and mobilization of the people to strictly abide by regulations, contributing to building a peaceful , friendly, cooperative, stable, and prosperous border.
