Tuyen Quang organizes the first provincial-level Fire Dancing Festival

(CLO) The Fire Dancing Festival of the Pa Then ethnic group promises to bring a unique cultural space imbued with spirituality.

On December 3, Mr. Tang Trung In - Secretary of the Tan Trinh Commune Party Committee said that on December 5 (October 16 of the lunar calendar), the Fire Jumping Festival of the Pa Then ethnic group in Tan Trinh Commune, Tuyen Quang Province will be held at the provincial level.

The event promises to bring a unique cultural space, becoming a highlight in the chain of local cultural and tourism activities.

The Fire Dance Festival is the most important ritual in the spiritual life of the Pa Then people. The ritual is usually held at the end of the year to thank the gods, pray for health, good crops and peace for the community.

In the festival space, when the night falls, the shaman will perform sacrificial rituals to invite the gods to enter the participants. Under the bright firelight, the sound of drums, gongs and echoing prayers, the Pa Then boys gradually fall into a state of spiritual sublimation.

They dance on piles of red-hot coals, using their hands to pick up the ashes or sit on the coals without getting burned. All create a mysterious scene, attractive to spiritual power.

Not only is it a spiritual expression, a testament to the strength of human beings in life, the Fire Jumping ritual is also the Pa Then people's desire to control nature for survival. Raising the festival to the provincial level aims to honor this unique ritual, connect the community and preserve traditional cultural values.
