During their training camp in the UAE, the Vietnam U23 team will play two international friendly matches against Qatar U23, taking place on October 9th and 13th.

According to Acting Coach Dinh Hong Vinh, this is a valuable opportunity for the team to be tested and to assess its strength: "Meeting high-level opponents like U23 Qatar is very useful."
These two matches will help the coaching staff better assess the potential, adaptability, and identify more quality players to report to head coach Kim Sang Sik, thereby preparing well for subsequent training camps.”

Vietnam U23 set a series of records after winning the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship.
In terms of personnel, the team has two changes from the initial list due to injuries. Midfielder Dinh Xuan Tien suffered a hamstring strain, while forward Nguyen Ngoc My sustained an adductor muscle injury.
Both players were forced to remain in the country for treatment and recovery. The coaching staff called up Le Dinh Long Vu (SLNA Club) and Nguyen Le Phat ( Ninh Binh Club) as replacements.
Head coach Dinh Hong Vinh added: “The Vietnam U23 team is still following the correct roadmap towards the SEA Games 33 and the 2026 AFC U23 Championship. In the immediate future, the team will have different training camps to test and refine the squad.”
Regarding this October training camp specifically, head coach Kim Sang Sik had very specific discussions about technical aspects. The team needs to focus on passing ability, maintaining a reasonable formation, and creating space behind the defense.”
The training camp in the UAE is an important step in the comprehensive preparation plan that the VFF has developed for the Vietnam U23 team, aiming to help the young squad continue to develop, accumulate international experience, and strive for new achievements.
This is part of the team's meticulous preparation plan aimed at two key goals: the 33rd SEA Games in December and the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.
