Transporting 52kg of drugs for 200 million VND, man arrested

On December 4, the Ha Tinh Border Guard coordinated with functional forces to arrest two men for transporting a large quantity of drugs.

Initial information, at 4:00 a.m. on December 1, on National Highway 8A (in Son Kim 1 commune, Huong Son, Ha Tinh), the Drug and Crime Prevention Department of the Border Guard of Ha Tinh province; Cau Treo International Border Guard Station; Son Hong Border Guard Station coordinated with the Northern Task Force of the Drug and Crime Prevention Department of the Border Guard; PC04 Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police and the Drug Prevention and Control Team of the Ha Tinh Customs Department discovered Nguyen Van Trung (born in 1969, residing in Thuong Nga commune, Can Loc district, Ha Tinh) driving a motorbike with license plate 38C1 - 265.17.

At the time of the inspection, the vehicle driven by Trung had two packages containing 52 packages of methamphetamine and Ketamine. The packages of drugs weighed 52 kg.

Expanding the investigation, on the same afternoon (December 1), the authorities urgently arrested Nguyen Tuan Anh (born in 1977, residing in Quarter 4, Bac Son Ward, Bim Son Town, Thanh Hoa Province).

Working with the authorities, both admitted their crimes.

Nguyen Van Trung confessed to transporting drugs for Nguyen Tuan Anh in exchange for 200 million VND.

Authorities are continuing to investigate and expand the case.
