On the afternoon of July 22, the final round of the 2025 National U21 Championship continued with the second round of matches of groups B and C. With their second consecutive victory, PVF, Hanoi and HAGL soon secured tickets to the quarterfinals of the National U21.
The Cong Viettel and PVF are the two candidates for the top spot in Group B. As expected, the quality of the squads of The Cong Viettel and PVF are both high, so the two teams created an equal match.
In a tight match, PVF was the team that broke the deadlock in the 70th minute. From a break into the penalty area, Ba Dat fell in the 16m50 area of The Cong Viettel in a dispute with goalkeeper Duc Duy.
Determining it was a foul, the referee awarded PVF a penalty. Anh Tuan could not beat goalkeeper Duc Duy in the face-off, but Ba Dat rushed in to score the only goal, bringing all 3 points to the home team.
Also in Group B, Ho Chi Minh City had a great victory over Tay Ninh with a score of 5-1. In the 24th minute, Phi Hung caught the ball outside the penalty area, put the ball into the top corner, opening the score for Ho Chi Minh City.
In the 37th minute, Phi Hung dribbled the ball on the right wing and then crossed it for Thanh Dat to jump high and head the ball to increase the score to 2-0. Three minutes later, it was Thanh Dat who scored again after turning and finishing into the low corner of the opponent's goal before the opponent shortened the score to 1-3 in the 45th minute thanks to Chi Trung.
In the 53rd minute, Ho Chi Minh City had another goal by Nguyen Long before Thanh Dat headed the ball into his own net in the 64th minute to set the score at 5-1.
In Group C, Hanoi continued to assert their strength when they defeated Dong Thap with a score of 3-0. In the 24th minute, Van Toan opened the victory for the capital team with an accurate shot.
Seven minutes later, Van Tuyen headed the ball to increase the score to 2-0 after a cross from his teammate. The 3-0 victory was decided for Hanoi in the 81st minute with the same scenario and Anh Tuan was the author of this third goal.
In the remaining match of the group, HAGL had no difficulty in defeating Dak Lak with a score of 2-0.
The final round of group stage matches will take place on July 23 and 24, to determine the remaining teams in the quarter-finals.
