Among them, the two most popular tourist destinations are Japan and Vietnam.
Reasons influencing Korean tourists' destination choice include short flight distance, low exchange rate, and cost.
The survey was conducted from August 1 to 7, with 1,270 people aged 18 and over who had passed through Incheon Airport in the past five years.
11.2% of respondents said they intend to travel abroad during the holidays. This is the highest rate since the first survey was conducted in 2020. The figures for 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 were 1.9%, 2%, 3.2% and 9.3% respectively.
IIAC estimates that an average of 201,000 passengers will arrive at Incheon Airport each day during this year's Chuseok holiday period from September 13 to 18.
