Dang Tran Phuong Nhi won two gold medals and one silver medal at the world championship held in the US.
Vietnam competed successfully in the Sanshou group on the final day, yesterday, November 20. Fighters Huynh Do Dat (men's 70kg), Nguyen Thi Lan (women's 48kg) and Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy (women's 60kg) all won the final match.
Previously, in the taolu (performance) category, Vietnam won two gold medals, both thanks to Dang Tran Phuong Nhi. The girl born in 2004 excellently topped the women's men's boxing and women's stick boxing categories. She also won a silver medal in the women's saber category.
This World Wushu Championship was held in Texas, USA from November 17 to November 20, with the participation of 500 athletes from 72 countries and territories. Vietnam participated in the tournament with 13 athletes including Thuy Vi, Phuong Giang, Nguyen Thi Lan, Duy Hai, Manh Cuong, Huy Hoang, Phuong Nga, Kieu Trang, Phuong Nhi, Thu Thuy, Van Huu, Van Tam, Do Dat.
China topped the overall group with 15 gold medals. Vietnam's achievement this time exceeded expectations, as in the previous tournament, in 2019, it only won one gold medal, 4 silver medals and 4 bronze medals.
