According to the Vietnam Trade Office in the Philippines, Vietnamese rice is increasingly facing fierce competition in this market. Therefore, Vietnamese rice exporting enterprises must have good preparation and competitive strategies; first of all, image and reputation to continue maintaining relationships with long-standing traditional customers and partners, and expanding the search for new partners and importers. The Bureau of Plant Health (Ministry of Agriculture of the Philippines) said that from the beginning of the year to March 14, the Philippines imported 887,000 tons of rice, about 11% higher than the total amount of rice imported in the first quarter of 2023. Of this, rice imported from Vietnam still accounted for the largest amount, nearly 494,000 tons, accounting for 56%; followed by rice imported from Thailand with 231,000 tons, accounting for 26%.
