This is a moment eagerly awaited by the global scientific and technological community. The award honors groundbreaking inventions and technologies that improve the quality of life for millions of people worldwide and promote the development of many industries and services of significant importance to humanity. Following the success of the previous three seasons, VinFuture 2024 attracted a record number of nearly 1,500 research projects, nominated by over 9,000 partners from more than 80 countries and territories around the world. The number of international scientists becoming nominating partners increased nearly eightfold, and the number of nominations increased 2.5 times compared to the first season, demonstrating the scale and reach of VinFuture. The 4th VinFuture Awards ceremony brings together outstanding scientists from around the globe in key fields that are shaping the future of the world, such as materials science, artificial intelligence, medicine, and environmental research. Many of these researchers are recipients of international awards such as the Nobel Prize, Millennium Technology Prize, and Turing Award, as well as winners of previous VinFuture Awards. VinFuture 2024 also attracts public attention with the presence of leading figures from around the world and Vietnam in the arts and culture sector. According to the organizers, the band Imagine Dragons will present meaningful performances with their distinctive and modern music. Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, violinist Hoang Ho Khanh Van, and the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet Theatre will deliver performances showcasing both traditional and modern Vietnamese culture.

VinFuture 2024, with the message "Breaking Through with Resilience," honors groundbreaking research and inventions with far-reaching impact, helping humanity overcome difficulties and reach new heights. As usual, this year's VinFuture awards system includes four categories. The main prize is worth over 76 billion VND, equivalent to 3 million USD. Three special prizes, each worth nearly 13 billion VND, equivalent to 500,000 USD, will be awarded to female scientists, scientists from developing countries, and scientists researching emerging fields. The VinFuture Awards Council comprises scientists and inventors from leading educational institutions, research institutes, and technology corporations worldwide. This year, the program also recognizes the nominating partners who have made significant contributions to the mission of honoring and promoting science to serve humanity. Ahead of the awards ceremony, scientists have been predicting the fields that will be honored at this year's awards. Among them, fields that receive global research attention, such as climate change, energy security, global health, and artificial intelligence (AI), are considered strong contenders.
