During the meeting, VOV Deputy General Director Pham Manh Hung emphasized the historical special relationship between Vietnam and Cuba; and the cooperation between VOV and the Cuban Institute of Information and Social Communications.
The cooperation agreement between VOV and the Cuban Institute of Information and Social Communications was first signed in 2013, followed by another in 2018. Besides the achievements already made, there is still much work to be done and developed to a higher level, especially in the context of the increasingly rapid digital transformation of journalism and communication technology. Both sides have agreed to sign a new cooperation agreement to further promote and enhance the effectiveness of their activities.

Within the framework of the new Cooperation Agreement, the two sides agreed to add many new provisions and contents, including cooperation in exchanging news, information, digital content and radio and television programs on culture, history, music and tourism to expand and deepen mutual understanding, friendship and knowledge of the two peoples.
The two sides also agreed to cooperate in producing and co-producing radio and television programs on culture, history and tourism to be broadcast on their respective radio and television channels.
In addition to exchanging programs and training reporters and editors, the two sides will exchange high-level delegations to discuss professional skills and management, as well as the production of radio and television programs.
Mr. Alfonso Noya Martínez, President of the Cuban Institute of Information and Social Communication, believes that both sides can fully enhance cooperation in exchanging current affairs information about each country, programs introducing culture and lifestyles to promote understanding and cooperation between the two nations; and at the same time, share experiences to maintain the leading role of mainstream media in information dissemination as well as address challenges in the digital transformation process, upgrading broadcasting and television technology… The Cuban Institute of Information and Social Communication has just taken on a new role and therefore greatly needs new experiences to refine its operational model.
Mr. Alfonso Noya Martínez thanked VOV for its affection and valuable support for the Institute and hoped to continue receiving cooperation and support from Vietnamese partners in the future.
