According to the Propaganda Department, at approximately 6:45 PM on November 6th, search and rescue forces received further information from the mobile phone of Colonel Pilot Nguyen Van Son, Commander of the 940th Air Force Regiment.

Earlier, in an interview with VietNamNet, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, Pham Anh Tuan, said that authorities had contacted one of the pilots involved in the Yak-130 plane crash in Tay Son district.

Accordingly, the person who made contact was Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan, Head of Flight Operations of the 940th Air Force Regiment. "According to information received at the scene, one pilot has contacted us to determine the coordinates, and another pilot also has preliminary information," the Chairman of Binh Dinh province said.

According to information from the Propaganda Department, at 4:30 PM this afternoon, Lieutenant Colonel Pilot Nguyen Hong Quan contacted his unit by mobile phone to report that he was on a high mountain peak (the exact location is unclear), the phone signal was intermittent so he couldn't communicate much, and the pilot's health was normal.

Authorities are currently working to locate the two pilots.

As reported by VietNamNet, on November 6th, the 940th Air Regiment, Air Force Officer School, Air Defense - Air Force Command, organized a training flight at Phu Cat airport with a Yak-130 aircraft (serial number 210D).

The aircraft, performing flight 208, a long-distance, open-air, cloud-piercing flight in complex meteorological conditions, was piloted by Colonel Nguyen Van Son, Regiment Commander, in the front cockpit, and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan, Flight Chief, in the rear cockpit.

The aircraft took off at 9:55 AM and at 10:38 AM, upon completion of the landing exercise, the pilot reported that the landing gear was not deploying. Emergency landing gear deployment procedures were attempted, but without success.

The pilots reported to the flight commander and were given permission to parachute. Both pilots parachuted at 10:51 AM in the TB2 firing range area, Tay Son, Binh Dinh.
