Ea Knuec Commune: Connecting durian and agricultural product consumption

On the morning of August 17, the People's Committee of Ea Knuec commune coordinated to organize a working session with a Chinese business delegation led by Mr. Chen Wanshan, Market Development Director of China Co-op Group, to discuss and connect trade in key agricultural products, especially durian.

Attendees included representatives from the Department of Science and Technology; the Dak Lak Business Association; leaders of Ea Knuec commune; representatives from cooperatives in the area; and 30 businesses from China.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Knuec commune, delivered a welcoming speech to the Chinese business delegation.

During the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Knuec commune, introduced the potential and strengths of Ea Knuec commune in terms of agricultural products.

Specifically for durian, the entire commune currently has 5,153 hectares, of which 2,530 hectares are already producing fruit, with an estimated output of 55,660 tons per year; there are 9 export packaging facilities and 29 planting area codes granted for an area of ​​over 1,133 hectares. This is an important foundation for Ea Knuếc to build a stable consumption channel, aiming towards the export market.

Ms. Ngo Thi Minh Trinh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ea Knuếc commune, introduced and invited the visiting delegation to enjoy durian.

With its potential in land resources, diverse climate, abundant labor, and a gradually developing production linkage system, Ea Knuếc aims to build ecological agriculture , apply technology, develop agricultural product brands, and promote digital transformation, thereby creating a sustainable consumption channel for durian and local agricultural products.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Knuec commune, emphasized that agriculture is the key economic sector of the commune, with durian being a strategic crop. The locality hopes that through these networking activities, it will find potential partners, expand markets, and increase the value of agricultural products.

During the meeting, 30 businesses from China also expressed their desire to learn more about and establish trade connections with the local area in the future.
