Ea Knuec Commune: Connecting durian and agricultural product consumption

On the morning of August 17, the People's Committee of Ea Knuec commune coordinated to organize a working session with a Chinese business delegation led by Mr. Chen Wanshan, Market Development Director of China Co-op Group, to discuss and connect trade in key agricultural products, especially durian.

Attending the event were representatives of the Department of Science and Technology; Dak Lak Business Association; leaders of Ea Knuec commune; representatives of cooperatives in the area and 30 enterprises from China.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of Ea Knuec Commune People's Committee, delivered a welcoming speech to the Chinese business delegation.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of Ea Knuec Commune People's Committee, introduced the potential and strengths of Ea Knuec Commune in terms of agricultural products.

As for durian, the whole commune currently has 5,153 hectares, of which 2,530 hectares have produced products, with an estimated output of 55,660 tons/year; there are 9 export packaging facilities and 29 growing area codes granted for an area of over 1,133 hectares. This is an important foundation for Ea Knuec to build a stable consumption channel, aiming at the export market.

Ea Knuec Commune Party Secretary Ngo Thi Minh Trinh introduced and invited the guests to enjoy durian.

With diverse land and climate potential, abundant labor and a gradually forming production linkage system, Ea Knuec aims to build ecological agriculture , apply technology, develop agricultural product brands and promote digital transformation, thereby forming a sustainable consumption channel for durian and local agricultural products.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Knuec Commune, emphasized that agriculture is the key economic sector of the commune, in which durian is a strategic crop. The locality hopes that through these connection activities, it will find potential partners, expand the market and increase the value of agricultural products.

At the meeting, 30 businesses from China also expressed their desire to learn and connect with the locality in the near future.
