On the morning of October 25th, in an exchange with a reporter from Dan Tri newspaper , a leader of the Long Xuyen Ward People's Committee ( An Giang province) stated that the unit had received information about the case of a young man accused of being a "teacher who took a 9th-grade student to a motel," which has been circulating on social media for several days. However, after reviewing 29 junior and senior high schools in the area, Long Xuyen Ward found no record of this individual teaching.
"This person is not a teacher at any of the junior or senior high schools in Long Xuyen ward," the leader said.
Earlier that day, representatives from the An Giang Provincial Department of Education and Training also stated that they had received information about the incident, but no school had yet officially reported it to the Department.
Previously, a video circulated on social media showing a young man in a white shirt being taken away by local security forces.
In the video, several people, believed to be relatives of the female student, are seen shouting, claiming that the young man took their daughter to a motel.
