More than just a group photo of close friends or the entire class, yearbooks are now seen as a way to preserve beautiful moments of high school and college life, and as a testament to maturity. To capture beautiful photos of their youth, many young people invest effort, time, creativity, and even material resources to create impressive and unique individual yearbook photos.
Nguyen Le Tuan Nam (32 years old), an experienced photographer at Huong Photo Studio (Kim Tan Ward, Lao Cai City), said: "Every year, right after the Lunar New Year, I receive many requests to take graduation photos for graduating students. This is the most suitable time to take graduation photos because after the Tet holiday, people are relaxed, in good spirits, and not yet too busy with exams."

Currently, the price for hiring a photographer for graduation photos is commonly between 500,000 VND and 1,500,000 VND. According to Mr. Nam, many factors contribute to a beautiful graduation photo album, with the photographer's skill playing a crucial role. Compared to taking photos themselves or hiring an amateur photographer, which might save money but doesn't guarantee high-quality photos, choosing a professional photographer, although more expensive, will result in a more satisfying album. Professionals have expertise and can advise clients on clothing, accessories, posing, and selecting impressive locations.

Most students who hire a private graduation photoshoot package will invite family, teachers, and friends to join in the fun. Having a private photographer offers more flexibility in terms of time and eliminates the need to rely on the class's shared photographer. A private photographer can capture the most natural moments of you having fun with family and friends, making it easier to choose the best photo of yourself instead of the "everyone looks good on Facebook" dilemma.

Currently in the peak season for individual graduation photoshoots, photographer Truong Minh Quang, 21, from Lao Cai ward (Lao Cai city), said that every weekend he receives at least two clients for individual graduation photos, mostly graduating junior and senior high school students in Lao Cai city. Occasionally, he also takes clients from other districts in the province.

The trend of taking individual graduation photos is increasingly attracting young people. They often invest a lot of time and effort in brainstorming ideas for their photo shoot. Typically, high school students choose to wear simple, meaningful outfits such as school uniforms, class uniforms, or rented graduation gowns. For female students, it's usually a traditional Vietnamese dress (áo dài), while male students might wear shirts, suits, and ties. In addition, they prepare or rent matching outfits to create unique and personalized photos. This could be a vintage style, a European or Korean style, or a traditional Vietnamese costume style…

Besides completing the task of taking beautiful photos, Quang also proactively suggests and prepares accessories such as flower crowns, balloons, baby's breath flowers, etc., so that his clients can have more fresh and interesting photo angles.
As one of the customers who received enthusiastic support from Mr. Quang, Nguyen Thuy Duong, a student in class 12A1 at Lao Cai City No. 1 High School, said: "I prepared everything from having my ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) made, to hiring a makeup artist, and scheduling my individual graduation photoshoot about 2-3 weeks in advance."

The best thing about a photograph is that it will never change, even if the people in the photo have changed. True to its meaning, a yearbook is meant to be a keepsake; later, when we are adults, we can look back at those old yearbook photos and reminisce about our beautiful school days.
