At the end of 2023, a large crack appeared in the hillside area where the Tra My Meteorological Station is located, posing a risk of subsidence and landslides. Based on the analysis and assessment of the current situation, on June 20, 2024, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision 1486 approving the adjustment of the investment project for the construction of this embankment, focusing on three key groups of items.
This includes adjusting and reinforcing the 110m long embankment slope with a construction solution involving excavating and leveling the hillside behind the wall from a sloping slope to an excavated slope; planting grass within the concrete beam frame to reinforce the slope. For the base, a layer of gabions with a galvanized steel core and PVC coating will be placed; and a surface drainage system will be installed on the reinforced concrete slope and steps.
At some locations, additional retaining walls with reinforced concrete structures are installed, along the base of the walls, with an internal reverse filter layer consisting of filter aggregate and filter sand.
In addition, drainage ditches have been added along several locations leading to manholes or drainage pipes... The total investment for the project after this adjustment is over 94.8 billion VND.

Following approval from the Provincial People's Committee, in recent days, some technical staff of the construction contractor have been carrying out professional measures to calculate solutions for roof tarpaulin construction and reinforcement.
In the residential area along National Highway 24C (Tra My to Tra Bong) and the Tra My meteorological hill, plans are being made to build a service road to the hilltop to allow heavy machinery to access the area for leveling, excavating, and transporting excavated soil and rocks to disposal sites.
According to an official from the Tra My Meteorological Station, there is an unidentified grave in the construction area. Local residents have planted pineapple plants to mark the grave so that the contractor will be aware and remove it before construction begins.
Previously, during the construction of the Truong River embankment project in late 2023, three large cracks appeared on the hill where the Tra My Meteorological Station is located. Of these, crack number 3 was the top one, only 3-7 meters away from the area where the weather monitoring equipment was installed.
The crack is arc-shaped, running west-east, approximately 110m long and 2.5m deep; the gap is 10-20cm wide, the ground has subsided by about 40cm, and there are signs of further widening.
The cracks threaten the safety of the embankment, the station building, the weather monitoring equipment of the Tra My Meteorological Station, and a household at the foot of the hill. Local residents hope that the remedial work will be completed before this year's rainy season to ensure safety.
